Bautz: Comparing flight CCD cal data to cal data from ground-irradiated CCD. Ground-irradiated CCD is similar to S2. Ground CCD cal applied to energies down to 0.2 keV. Power law betwen CTI and energy. Calibration of gain vs row number being established. At -110 C, events below 0.5 keV being lost (under threshold). At -120 C, no events lost at 0.5 keV. see http://space.mit.edu/~cgrant/labqe O'Dell: No detectable CTI increase on day 1999/286. Recommends decreasing radiation passage pad time from 13 ksec to 10 ksec. Need to determine associated increase in EPHIN P4 RADMON threshold. (Tananbaum: make the 10 ksec pad inclusive of maneuver and other setup time consumables, not exclusive.) Question about Catherine Grant's measurement of CTI change of 1.17 x 10E-8 /day = 4 X 10E-6 /year. This should be considered as an upper limit, not a measurement. Applies at -110 C. Tennant: is the backout of background radiation trend from CTI trend valid? Bautz says we should do some flight testing to verify this: vary integration time, and track CTI versus background rate. Garmire: Submitted paper on "CTI-corrector" algorithm for ACIS data. Uses cal data and background Ni and Au data. Uses power law (+ pertubations) corrections to give uniform energy calibration across CCD. Improves QE at I3 aimpoint by 5%. Valid at -110C, not tested at -120C. Has been checked against E0102 and Puppis, but not HETG data. PSU and MIT will work with HETG and other source data to further test corrector. Lisa Townsley will distribute paper. HT suggests that PSU work with MIT/CXC on such correctors. Garmire: Reflectance measurements at Harvard beamline are continuing. Still need to fill out energy-angle space. Can go down to 200 keV proton energies.
