Notes from 9am status meeting: A schedule has been developed which would result in continuous dither being implemented the first week in February. OFLS has a problem in choosing antennas: it tries to pick the side which was used previously. This results in a systematic trend where that side tends to be moving away from clear coverage -- whereas the other side antenna would tend to be moving toward better coverage. FOT is considering what to do to fix this. Extension of the 009:02:10 comm until 04:10 has been arranged to allow upload of ACIS flight software rev B. Notes from 10am ACIS ops meeting: Assuming Level II board approval today, ACIS will upload the Rev B flight software. Plan is to attempt this within the time of the scheduled comm pass on Saturday afternoon, with the extended pass held as a contingency in case that load isn't successful. The contingency is considered to be extremely important, because at least one observation in the JAN0900 load depends on the new CC 3x3 mapping. Assuming a successful load, we would "advertise" full 6 chip operation starting in the FEB0600 load, and also try to accommodate those observations in the Jan3000 load which can really benefit from 6 chips. ACIS team needs to repeat the cooling test of setting the focal plane temperature to -125 deg C. This would be done during HRC observations the week of Jan 17. In the previous test, we started clocking ACIS, and therefore dissipating power, before we could tell if cooling from the radiator had bottomed out. In the new test we will delay clocking of the CCD's for ~45,000 seconds after start of cooling. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
