Mission Planning: TOO observation apparently went very well. PCAD: meetings at 10 am for HRC continuous dither, 2pm ACIS continuous dither. GOT: reports all data from day 017 are now here, and all but 3 hrs for day 018 are here. I checked on colossus (/dsops/GOT/input), and found for day 017 files covering all times 018 files covering all but a possible 1 min interval 2226-2227 019 files covering all times thru day 020:0410. There was a problem at JPL over the past couple of days; they have now rebuilt their database, so no more problems are anticipated. DSOPS: Automatic Processing is now up and running, and keeping up. Evaluation of QL data done at 019:15:40 -------------------------------------------- The following observations from the last ten days should be available for review. If there is no comment after the entry, it means the image has not yet appeared in the book. The ACA workstation, Coot, is reporting " invalid sqrt of -.000159... Q_CMD [123] -.0477... -.6308 -.7745..." I checked this with my own Mathcad calculation and got the same result: the calculation of q4 in the quaternion gives an imaginary number, so the conversion to RA, DEC,Roll cannot proceed correctly. Yet the coot job radec is producing a result: RA DEC Roll --- --- ---- estim. 149.047 -69.6777 147.3090 target 149.032 -69.6797 147.3235. A meeting was held by Dan Shropshire to discuss the implications of continuous dither for HRC. One issue: if dither amplitude is very low or zero for a previous observation, then a maneuver is made to a new HRC target, the new dither amplitude as currently planned would not be commanded until 10-20 sec after end of maneuver. That results in HRC staring at one spot for that period of time. A meeting on implications for ACIS will be held this afternoon. Discussion about the SI safing is under way, on how to go to SCS 107 autonomously if a load ends and no new load is uplinked. Leon has the action to set up a meeting on the subject week of Jan 31.
