Given the recent bias changes associated with perigee passages, are there any environmental affects on gyro performance? - the Actel 1020A FPGA used in the IRUs (for fine tuning of rotor speed) has 2 of 3 majority voting on the sensitive logic. If the sensitive logic were to suffer an SEU (single event upset radiation event), it would cause the IRU to go through its power up sequence, resulting in a current draw much larger than seen. - spec on ASDR (acceleration-sensitive drift rate) = 4 deg/hr/g - spec on magnetic field AIDR (acceleration-insensitive drift rate) = 0.004 deg/hr/gauss, with the gyro mu-metal shield in place. - gyro bias is sensitive to both axial and transverse temperature gradients. 4) Quick Look data review: No new quick look data received.
