ACIS Shift report M359 Jul 16 1800, GMT 198:22:00 PLAN: Examine EPHIN realtime rates to determin if it is safe to start an ACIS CTI measurement before going into the belts. Warm boot the ACIS BEP to clear any SEUs which could effect upcoming science runs. SUMMARY: The radiation environment continues to subside but was still too high to permit normal science operations. I did warm boot the BEP and restart DEA housekeeping. All was nominal. The next stored command load was uplinked to the spacecraft and activated. It was activated now because the first observation is the ACIS CTI measurement on the out bound side of the orbit. The overall trend from GOES and ACE is downwards, but rates are still highly elevated compared to quiescent levels. NEXT PLAN: Tag-up at 9pm tonight 305-503-1818 (conference code 421) to discuss the radiation environment and the possibility of allowing the stored load to continue running tomorrow when normal science observations would begin. ACIS waits for CTI measurement on the outbound leg ending at 199:15:50. 1) Detailed Timeline: GMT 198:20:46 AOS on DSS 66 198:20:48 FP temp = -120.0 C, swHousekeeping and deaHousekeeping running, ACIS TLM looks nominal 198:20:49 EPHIN rates E150=10926, E300=193, E1300=9.9, P4GM=183.6, P41GM=3.1 cts/s cm^2 sr ** sorry unit change, the on-board thresholds are in these units: ** E1300 = 10.0, P4GM = 300.0, P41GM = 8.47 cts/s cm^2 sr altitude 97,644 km and descending E1300 not acceptable. P4GM is below the threshold but not by our rule of thumb of a factor of 3 below. P41GM is ~ factor 3 below the threshold. 198:21:01 Execute SOP 61070 to warm boot the BEP 198:21:02 Verify: BEP normal boot Flight SW version number = 30 warmbootFlag=1, patchValidFlag=1 198:21:04 Execute SOP 61010 to restart the DEA Housekeeping 198:21:05 verify deaHousekeeping TLM 198:21:07 EPHIN rates E150=11048, E300=199, E1300=12.4, P4GM=233.1, P41GM=3.3 cts/s cm^2 sr altitude 95969 km 198:21:23 FP Temp = -120 C 198:21:25 EPHIN rates E150=11585, E300=190, E1300=9.8, P4GM=234.4, P41GM=2.9 cts/s cm^2 sr 198:21:30 EPHIN rates still seem to be too high to collect data, so I call it a day 198:22:45 LOS 2) Chandra state at the beginning of the pass: UTC 2000:198:20:53:01 (Jul16) f_ACE 1.01e+04 F_ACE 2.02e+10 Kp 2.0 R km 98385D OBT 2000:198:20:52:24 CTUVCDU 176639 OBC s/w NRML FMT2_NORM CPEstat OBT 80167944.58 ONLVCDU 176624 OBC Errs 0 OBSID 61995 EPState SUN SIM TTpos -99615 HETG Angle 80.2 PCADMODE NPNT RA 325.438 Bus V 31.18 SIM FApos -467 LETG Angle 78.3 PCONTROL NPNT Dec 60.100 Bus I 25.20 AOFSTAR GUID Roll 151.302 ACA Object SSSSSSSS Dither ENAB HRC-I HV ON ACA ImFunc TTTTTNNN Dith Yang 3.68 Yaw Rate -0.04 HRC-S HV OFF ACA CCD Temp -10.4 Dith Zang -1.85 Pitch Rate -0.29 OBSMode NEXT ACA Int Time 1.698 Roll Rate 0.10 Door OP UNAC AOACSTAT OK FSS SunBeta SUN Door CL UNAC FSS Alfa 1.45 Batt 1 SOC 100.00% Avg HRMA Temp 70.58 FSS Beta -5.66 Batt 2 SOC 100.00% ACIS Stat7-0 67 Avg OBA Temp 50.97 SA Resolv 94.67 Batt 3 SOC 100.00% Cold Rad -127.9 OBA Tavg Fault NFLT SA Sun Pres ILLM Warm Rad -82.0 OBA Trng Fault NFLT +Y SA Amps 11.98 HRMA power 40.70 SCS 128 -Y SA Amps 12.76 EPHIN Geom LARG OBA power 85.10 SCS 129 +Y SA Temp 108.17 E150 7168 SCS 130 -Y SA Temp 107.90 E300 1772 Roll Mom. -0.166 E1300 78 Pitch Mom. -9.920 UpL Cmd Acc 65461 EPH A-Leak 0.6160 P4GM 2168 Yaw Mom. 2.719 Cmd Rej A 177 EPH B-Leak 0.1080 P41GM 37 SOT LEAD: ACIS: Paul Plucinsky
