PLAN Continue running load JUN2500d. End CTI measurement and manuever to PKS 1830-211, a gravitationally lensed quasar, to do OBSID 371 with ACIS-S/HETG. This evening we will do a manual retraction of the HETG, then use ACIS-S to observe the east jet of SS433, OBSID 659, and the wide quasar pair Q2345+007, OBSID 861. ACIS focal plane temperature = -119.9 NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS Kudos to TRW/SOC and DSN for obtaining an extra comm pass at 175:21:05 last Friday. This enabled us to avoid safing the Science Instruments due to a large solar proton event which was on-going at 17:30, but which decreased soon thereafter, and therefore saved 48 hours of science operations which would have been lost! Thanks also to FOT mission planning and engineering teams, for scheduling comm passes, analyzing HETG operations to ascertain that they were safe, and preparing and reviewing CAPs, scripts and command loads so that we could perform real-time grating insertion and retraction to enable observation of PKS 1830-211, a gravitationally lensed quasar for which roll constraints only allow one day each year as a suitable observation window. From the 9am status meeting: 9 supports over the weekend, 9 good dumps. 3 load segments uplinked, good until 182:11:59. HETG insertion CAP 622C was successful. Ran routine CPE warm start CAP, count still 1 as expected. Products for JUL0200 are out, load review scheduled for 2pm today. Tomorrow's all day meeting on HETG retraction failures and methods for future grating operations will be held in the 6th floor lounge area at 1 Kendall Sq. A review was held of CAP 624 rev A, to retract the HETG at 179:02:00, (10pm EDT tonight). This was approved subsequent to verification that there were no command clashes, and with some telemetry state revisions and notes.
