Star in slot 7 was not acquired. 2) As reported yesterday, we are having problems acquiring and tracking stars. The problem is related to the tighter magnitude limits implemented in the new star catalog (AGASC 1.4). The immediate solution is to revise the characteristics file to widen the acceptable magnitude limits. Specifically, the systematic error parameter is changed from 0.0 to 0.5. This has the effect of widening the acceptable magnitude range for a star during acquisition. It also limits the stars available for selection due to increased overlap of both position and magnitude limits. A revised load was built (MAY1600), reviewed and signed off for uplink during the pass starting at 1300. The new load has a segment in SCS130 which was to start at 137:1415 with COMM commands.
