Load good till 148:10:45. People got called last night about high proton fluence levels. There was some confusion in the FOT about what to do when this happens. The SOT explained that this was an informational notification, done at the discussion trigger level. Dan Schwartz called the OC at 9:30 pm. Jeff Shirer wrote a CAP to insert gratings, but didn't go through the approval cycle. This CAP has to be custom built on each occasion because of momentum monitor disabling requirements. Mission planning: load review today, 2 pm. Spacecraft eng'ng: Wallace reports on yesterday's telecon re the October lunar eclipse of Chandra. The solar arrays will be pointed 70 degrees off the sun direction. Chandra will point in the -Z direction, which limits possible science observations during this eclipse. Patches are needed to safe mode and SCSs to maintain the off-pointing. DSS contact will be needed for 3-4 hours. Tests will be done in July, with the fall eclipse season starting in August. Various contingency procedures must also be developed. GOT: OK SOT Lead: proton ACE fluxes are ~90% of 2hr fluence threshold, and of orbit fluence threshold. As of 10:00 am, EDT (14:03 GMT), the 2 hr fluence has dropped a factor of four. ASCDS: several nice QL pictures.
