We think that Chandra's situation is different, i.e. ROCSAT does a thermal cycle 16 times/day. Jeff Shirer writes: "We currently only look at the computed FSS/CSS sun vector difference on a daily basis. That is a good indicator, but not as direct as looking at the currents. So, we will add those to our daily plots." The coarse sun sensors on Chandra have 4 pi coverage, and are important in safe mode. Normally in safe mode we use the fine sun sensors, but if the sun is outside their field of view, we'd need the coarse sensors. We'd only get into difficulty of more than one CSS failed. We will check to see if the B side CSS was working when we were in safe mode. GOT: - SOT Lead: proton ACE fluxes are ~0.2% of 2hr fluence threshold; orbit fluence is 0.09% of threshold.
