Verify that ACIS has recovered from the DPA-A turn-off. Do an ACIS-S observation of the high redshift radio galaxy 0156-252, obsid 3057. Then a long ACIS-S/HETG GTO observation of the SMC supernova remnant E0102-7219, obsid 3828, which will also support calibration of the ACIS low energy gain. Then ACIS-I GTO observation of the cluster of galaxies MACS-J2214.9-1359 to determine distances using the SZ effect and to study cluster evolution, obsid 3259. ACIS focal plane temperature -119.7 NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS From the 9am status meeting: Two 34-m supports, we added a 26-m support at 0600 and deleted a subsequent 34-m support scheduled for 0915. At the 0000 contact telemetry indicated that DPA-A had turned off. The 5 v monitor and current monitor both read zero. The overvoltage and overcurrent flags had not tripped. This looked identical to the 26 Oct 2000 anomalous DPA-A turn-off, as confirmed by Bob Goeke. The additional support was used to turn ACIS back on, following the identical proceedure to the previous occurence: SOP 61002 [DPA side A ON command only from this procedure] SOP 61083 Load software patches SOP 61010 Start housekeeping run CAP 548 Reset ACIS FP Temperature (command set-point -121C) Ran CAP 818 to execute the above recovery steps. Also ran CAP 817 to disable the on-board aberration correction. This correction was only for Chandra motion around the earth; motion of the earth around the sun had previously been disabled. Thanks to the FOT/ CC/OC, Engineering, MP, and to Yousaf and Royce for running the recovery on-console with remote support from Bob, Peter, and Paul. No science data was lost, and apparently also not even any cti-measurements. First segment of the two week load, DEC2302B, was uplinked. On-board loads are good through 358:21:25. GOT will do some firewall testing today. At the 16:25 pass (AOS at 17:13) ACIS DPA-A was on, and ACIS obsid 3828 was producing reasonable event rates.
