NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS ACIS focal plane temperature has been only -119.7 this orbit. From the 9am status meeting: Remainder of this week's command loads have been uplinked. ONLS 3.8 was successfully installed yesterday, and OFLS planning transitioned back to prime string. Email review of JAN2102B was good, new star catalogs have been supplied, and JAN2102C products expected out this morning for a load review at 2pm EST this afternoon (note that 2pm was choosen to give more time for review, since there is no FD CCB meeting today). Bruce Twambley was consulted relative to the ASVT problems. He suggested a GRETA problem might be the cause, and suggested some specific actions for investigation. From the ACIS ops meeting, Tuesday We will change our CTI parameter files so that the new bias parameters and threshold are used (same as for observations). In 23 executions of SCS 107 since Sept 2000, 4 have shut down the FEP while the BEP was still processing. One of these, Sept 13, 2000, caused a BEP crash and reboot. The reboot does not reload patches, so that ACIS cannot, e.g., do an event histogram or continuous clocking mode. During the recovery from an SCS 107 trip, we always have time to plan for reloading patches, and/or to not schedule event histogram or cc-mode, therefore a fix of this timing problem is not mandatory. Nevertheless, we should investigate whether there is a cost effective way (i.e., without excessive analysis and test) to change the delay from 10 seconds to 60 seconds so that this will not recur. We need to plan an alternating exposure CTI measurement so that we can check on the cosmic ray "correction" to the measured CTI value. Look aheads: based on MIT lab tests, in the next few months we will want to do a test shifting a line of charge generated in the frame store region, and another test increasing clocking voltages which has the effect of injecting a small "fat zero."
