RADIATION SUMMARY ----------------- Solar proton flux is high and rising. Several storms should hit between now and Sunday. Radiation Measurement Observed Limit --------------------- -------- ----- ACE 2 hr fluence 3.7e7 3.6e8. GOES-8/P2 4-9 MeV protons `P4GM' 0.09 95. REAL TIME OBSERVATIONS UTC OBSID ----------------------------------------------------------------- (none) Notes from 9 am meeting ------------------------ OPS: Passes 3 over the last 1 day(s) Dumps current Data loss - Load is good -> 140:21:30 UTC CAPs - Next passes 1945, 0455, 1345 Note: ACA dark current calibration was done successfully yesterday. MP: May20 load was approved yesterday. May27 products due out today; review Monday. S/C: Eric reports the ASVT testing yesterday was a partial success. There is a problem with the ACA model - it goes into bright star hold. We ended up with all large attitude errors. We need to diagnose the ASVT's behavior. The IRU calibration part of the test went well. GOT: We installed OFLS 10 beta - it has new radiation definitions. DATA: - SOT: A long duration C4.5 flare peaking at 00:35 UTC and a full halo CME, to hit us sometime during the latter half of May 18 or early on May 19. A long duration C5.0 flare peaking at 05:21 UTC. A "magnificent" eruption early today that may cause proton flux increases two or three days from now. GOES x-ray flux is presently low, but quite active yesterday. High probablility of CME to impact earth within 96 hours. High probability of M and X class flares within the next 48 hours.
