Observing 'SIGMA ORIONIS' (obsid 2560) with HRC-I. Large spike in soft proton levels, up to 17,000 flux at 325:1210 UT. Rapidly decreasing now. Solar wind speed has risen steeply since 325:0500 UT, due to coronal hole in view. HRC in focal plane, should be OK by tomorrow when ACIS moves to focal plane. 3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued Nov 20 at 22:00 UTC Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at moderate levels. Region 198 has the potential to produce M-class flares. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at predominantly unsettled to active conditions, through the forecast period, as a favorably positioned high speed stream coronal hole becomes geoeffective. Isolated minor storm conditions could occur during the high speed streams influence, especially at high latitudes.
