Observing 'PSR B1823-13 ' (obsid 2830) with ACIS-S. Soft proton levels are very low (under 100). Solar wind speed has been increasing rapidly over the past several hours and consequently Kp has risen rapidly. 3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued Oct 23 at 22:00 UTC Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be low to moderate. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be generally unsettled, with an increasing chance of active levels near the end of the interval. Effects of a high speed solar wind stream may be seen on 26 October. Sunspot 162 continues to be a possible source of M and/or X class flares. TOO approved. Will interrupt load tomorrow with TOO load. It was due to an uplink exciter failure, which was corrupting the downlink. Got telemetry online but had several dropouts. The data was not in the CDR by the time of the next pass, so it was redumped. A DR was opened at JPL on the problem. - Dumps are current, even with the above problem. - 1 SCS loaded, good thru 301:0119 Mission Planning (Ken): - OCT2802A was first time a non-replan load had been approved in the first review. Better tools now in use should make this a common occurrance. - 3 day TOO approved yesterday. Replan load products OCT2402A out now for 1pm load review today. Intercept the current schedule after rad zone passage. Replace 4 obs with TOO (about 100Ks) then move on to originally scheduled targets.
