Observing 'MRC 2251-178' (obsid 2977) with ACIS-S/HETG. Soft proton levels are below 1000 and slowly decreasing. Spaceweather.com: SUNSPOT WATCH: New sunspot 105 has a twisted "delta-class" magnetic field that harbors energy for powerful X-class solar flares. The huge spot covers an area of the Sun eight times greater than total surface area of Earth. NOAA: Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain at moderate levels for the next three days. A chance for an isolated major flare event exists for Region 105. EHS could not see command server due to network problems. GOT/FST resulved issue (see below). * Got OPS4 running to verify S/C state of health before end of pass - Dumps now current as of this morning's pass - Day 252 data will be complete when this morning's data comes in Mission Planning (Kevin): - SEP1502B products to be issued this morning for a load review at 2pm today. - SEP23 load in work S/C Engineering(Rino/Eric): - All is OK on S/C - Ran ACA earth limb constraint test last night. All went as expected. Acquired all stars - Will need two additional tests before finalizing the new constraint: * Acquire stars in normal point mode close to limb * Acquire stars at 20 deg from limb, track to 10 degrees and then back out to 20 in normal point. * Roger requested that benefits be quantified SOT(Bill): - See above notes on radiation DSOPS(Joy): - Two quick looks (see below) GOT/IST(Adam/Janet): - Issue with DSS-24 support was caused by an errant development test on OPSIM3. This test started flooding the network with UDP packets and disrupted communications with the command server. Problem was resolved by powering OPSIM3 down. Long term solution will be to isolate the development work from operations. This is generally done , but OPSIM was unique in that it had to be on the operations net to feed simulated data to ops consoles. This was designated as a technical issue to be addressed.
