NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS From yesterday's telecon discussing EPHIN: We will only perform observations which strictly do not allow EPHIN to overheat, according to prediction of the thermal modeling which Tan has done, in combination with the absolute guidelines on limits to durations at pitch angles between 80 and 110 degrees. This will continue at least until we have made and verified the patch to use HRC shield rates as a surrogate radiation protection. Expected to take 4-6 weeks (?, TBD). Even after the patch is ready, we will need to decide if and under what conditions we would expose EPHIN to further overheating. P4GM seems erratic during the current comm pass. Went from 3.3 to 62 in ten minutes. Goes 4-9 proton rates started increasing at about 13:30. From the 9am status meeting: Four supports over the last day. No issues. One support in progress being extended to complete playback. DEC0803 products out later this morning, probably have a load review tomorrow, (or possibly later than usual today). Tomorrow we expect to have a requirements review for the patch to use HRC as the RADMON trigger. Will meet in action room at 10am (to take the place of the star working group). Expect draft requirements to be sent out today.
