Chandra is in the magnetosphere. 3) MUPS Thruster Calibration: The MUPS Thruster Calibration procedure was run this evening at 9:30 pm EST. All data indicated nominal firings of each thruster and all test results were ok. There were problems getting solid telemetry lock from DSS-66 at the start of the pass. DSS-66 tried both receivers, and re-initialized their systems and restarted their TDC, with no improvement. DSS-66 then decreased their IF and video bandwidths by a factor of 2, which produced good telemetry. CAP 823: Increase Momentum Auto-unload Threshold to 40 ft-lb-sec. CAP 826: Run SOP_PROP_MUPS_CALIBRATION. Starting momentum: Roll Mom. 22.598 Pitch Mom. -18.663 Yaw Mom. -0.233 MUPS A3 changed total system momentum from 29 to 22 ft-lb-sec. MUPS A1 showed approximately equivalent performance to A3. MUPS A4 showed approximately equivalent performance to A3. MUPS A2 showed approximately euqivalent performance to A3. Ending momentum: Roll Mom. 22.620 Pitch Mom. -18.917 Yaw Mom. 0.206 Each thruster temp changed about 5 or 6 deg F from firing. CAP 828: Unload system momentum, ended at 013:04:52. NOTES: 1. To get full MUPS temperature telemetry during the manual momentum unload after the MUPS calibration, it was decided to stay in telemetry format 4, beyond the start time of the ACIS CTI measurements before obsid 04373. This caused the loss of these ACIS CTI data. 2. The SOT GRETA workstation telemetry display processes hung on two separate occasions during the evening, requiring logout and login to the workstation to fix. 3. There will be a follow-up telecon on Monday at 3pm EST, to review the test results and discuss future plans for momentum management.
