NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS P4GM is noticeably enhanced, > 100x normal and only ~ 15x below radmon trigger level. CME yesterday, and X-class flare this morning so we need to watch ACE and GOES rates. Project-wide MUPS anomaly review yesterday. NGST presented analysis of the most probable cause as thermally-induced nucleate boiling. This is a kind of partial vapor lock which I understood as very localized phase change due to very high thermal and pressure gradients in the flow. NGST defined possible testing and modeling, but FOT recommends not to proceed with these immediately due to lack of fidelity in the modeling, and to successful management of the reduced MUPS thrust via unloading only with initially cool (<120 Deg F) valves, scheduling to minimize the numbers of unloads, and unloading only in real time. Further actions are possible for further protection against thruster activation during a safemode. From the 9am status meeting: Two supports, some minor issues but all data retrieved. On-board loads good until 298:22:44. One more segment to be uplinked to complete OCT2003B. VCDU rollover will occur at 13:22:43 this morning. OCT2703B loads were approved and signed-off yesterday. ONLS 3.9.4 is being planned for promotion on Nov 6. Planned to go to Flight Director CCB next Thursday. The ORR for the ASVT is tentatively being scheduled for Friday, Oct 31.
