The GOES proton radiation flux is elevated from a recent sun-limb CME. We can expect elevated radiation over the next 24-48 hours from a recent full-halo CME on Oct 22. A radiation telecon at 4:30pm EDT today led to no immediate action, but the usual radiation alerts are in place, and a telecon may be called later tonight at the time of the next Chandra comm pass if ACE rates become higher than about 100,000 p/second. ACE 2 hr fluence is 6.4e7 vs. threshold 3.6e8. CRM-based orbital fluence is 7.6e8 vs. threshold 3.0e9. Chandra is in the magnetosheath.
