RADIATION SUMMARY ----------------- Solar soft proton flux is very low (http://www.srl.caltech.edu/ACE/ASC/) Significant solar activity: The solar flare activity level was very low. No C class events were recorded yesterday. (http://www.dxlc.com/solar/) CMEs reported for past two days: December 12-14: No obviously Earth directed CMEs observed. Next passes 2004:350:20:15 2004:351:02:45 2004:351:11:00 MP: We are working on the DEC2004 load, scheduling the dark current run. We expect products out late this morning, and a review either at the end of the day today or tomorrow. S/C: Dan Shropshire reports on the simulation exercise that started yesterday and is continuing today: SIMULATION SIMULATION SIMULATION We had a safe mode of unknown cause, with an associated eclipse. The SIM was stuck, ans the SSR had reset. Yesterday we resolved that the SSR problem was from being in safe mode during the eclipse, and we got the SIM unstuck by swapping the RCTU - the SEA had failed. Today, we are diagnosing the cause of the safe mode and will deal with the upcoming eclipse. Tom Aldcroft, Flight Director, said he'll call a mission planning tagup later today to discuss the returnto science after safe mode recovery. END SIMULATION - END SIMULATION - END SIMULATION GOT/IST: The building renovations: they are framing the windows by the elevator and men's room in preparation for removing the windows in a few days. DATA: We had an all day software upgrade yesterday. All who receive data through us please check your real time connections. SOT: Goes X-ray flux - GOES X-ray flux is very quiet. We did some formatting fixes on the shift report resulting from installation of a new Windows XP operating system on yobbo.
