(http://www.srl.caltech.edu/ACE/ASC/) Significant solar activity: July 27 was one of the magnetic stormiest days at earth of solar cycle 23. The solar flare activity level was moderate. A total of 8 C and 2 M class events were recorded yesterday. (http://www.dxlc.com/solar/) CMEs reported for past two days: July 27-28: Several CMEs, at least partial halo, could be earth directed. These could cause radiation problems in the next couple of days. A C class event occurred today that had a duration of ~9 hours, one of the longest we've seen. The AUG0204A load is in process, with Kevin doing momentum adjustments. Products expected to be out shortly. S/C: All of the limits exceeded in the past day or so have been investigated; none are problems. The last medium eclipse of the season is tonight. After that we'll run a CAP to set the eclipse flag to 'short.' GOT/IST: SCUD1 is down. We diverted SCUD2 away from ASVT to use it for ops. SCUD3 is attached to ASVT; we need someone to check its connectivity. The ASVT people agreed to check it out.
