Radiation levels are down from yesterday, soft protons at a flux of about 1000. However, there was an X2.5 flare last night and solar activity is moderate to high. If we decide to start the load the first observation will begin at 315:1709 UT. Radiation telecon 8:45am Nov 10: EPHIN rates were within bounds for restart of loads. Decision was to restart even though we may see higher radiation levels during the next 24 hours as the effects of the X2.5 flare and other solar activity reach the earth. 3-day Solar-Geophysical Forecast issued Nov 9 at 22:00 UTC Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be moderate to high. Region 696 is expected to produce M-class flares, and X-class flares are possible. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at unsettled to major storm conditions on 10-11 November. A CME shock associated with the M8 flare observed today should arrive on 11 November. Activity should subside to quiet to active levels on 12 November.
