RADIATION SUMMARY ----------------- Solar soft proton flux is very low (http://www.srl.caltech.edu/ACE/ASC/) Significant solar activity: The solar flare activity level was low. Two C class events were recorded yesterday. (http://www.dxlc.com/solar/) CMEs reported for past two days: February 6-8: No obvious fully or partly Earth directed CMEs were observed. Products called FEB1005A have just been released. We are reworking the FEB14 load to include a TOO and the new prop line-induced pitch angle limits(see below). S/C: Sabina looked at the recent prop line violation and we have come up with the following new operating guidline, based on empirical analysis of previous conditions: If the target attitude (including drift due to solar motion) has a pitch angle in the range from: (a) 155 deg to 162 deg, then attitudes for the prior 7 hours must have pitch angles < 110 deg. (b) 162 deg to 170 deg, then either (1) attitudes for the prior 7 hours must have pitch angles < 110 deg, or (2) the previous attitude must have a pitch angle in the range from 162 deg to 170 deg. Modeling of this is beyond the FOT's capability; help is needed from the NGST West Coast. It is a dynamic condition based on differing time constants in two parts of the prop system.
