NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS Rich Myers has provided further information on the SIM focus adjust drive. The normal pulse width modulation is 1, but during perihelion season the number of moves requiring level 2 has been increasing. The new condition reported yesterday was that the level 2 occured on a move starting at -535, whereas all previous cases had started at -467. The increase is presumed due to an increase in friction caused by normal wear. Rich writes: "As always, we are monitoring this for any change in characteristics, but I would not be concerned unless it reached a PWM level of 3. If this ever happened, we might want to start considering moving the Focus to non-standard positions to spread the lubricant." From the 9am status meeting: Three supports over the past day. No issues. No Cap's, no load segments uplinked. On-board loads good until 056:08:47. FEB2805 products in work for release late today or early tomorrow, load review tomorrow. SOT/MP Monday meeting to be held at 11:30 today. Yesterday saw a recurrence of bit corruption problems which occur in one channel only, at the exact telemetry location seen nine times previously from the Goldstone DSS-54 and DSS-24 stations. Meeting today to discuss Chandra/SOHO thermal experiences with EPHIN and with propellant line freezing, 10:30am, action room and on 405 244 5060 1165#.
