A more detailed assessment of impact will be made today and email sent out advising necessary action (e.g. power down office PCs). Radiation: - ACE P3 rates have increased rapidly over the past few hours to ~200, likely associated with the arrival of weak CMEs from flares on Jan. 4 and 5. There has also been a recent increase in the Solar wind particle density. There could be minor geomagnetic storm activity through Jan. 8. - GOES and EPHIN are very low. - Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low. - Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to range from quiet to minor storm levels. Weak transient flow from CME activity on 04 and 05 January may create occasional active periods on 07 and 08 January. Predominantly quiet to unsettled levels are expected on 09 January.
