Do obsid 5577, an ACIS-S ToO observation of the X-ray flasher XRF 050509C to characterize its afterglow, then obsid 5839, an HRC-S/LETG ToO to search for baryons (i.e., oxygen) in the local intergalactic medium, via their absorption of radiation from 3C 454.3 while the latter is in a bright state. EPH temp 93.79 degF NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS From the 9am status meeting: Three supports in the past day. No issues. Three load segments of MAY1905B were uplinked, on-board loads good until 142:20:25. Ran CAP 964 to replace the MAY1505A loads, and CAP 893A to disable SCS 29 following the SCS 107 run last Saturday. MAY1905B executed a rapid ToO to look at an X-ray flasher, and also incorporated the 3C 454.3 ToO which was not done due to the radiation shutdown last weekend. MAY2305 products are in work, expected out later this morning for a load review this afternoon at time to be announced (but later than the regular 1pm Thursday slot). The 3C454.3 observation is 112 ks at a pitch of about 68 degrees. It is expected that EPHIN will overheat and trip the 27v supply current limit later in that observation. Dataops noted a glitch in the sim delta angle of about 6 arcsec, of 0.06 arcsec in z-direction of HRC fids S-2 and S-4, and ~0.03 arcsec in y for HRC fid S-3, all very rapidly about 500s after the start of obsid 5444. Star data shows no effects. ACE soft protons have decreased more rapidly over the past 12 hours, and are only about 10x the background level. A faint CME from Tuesday could hit earth early tomorrow.
