SOT/ACIS Shift report L2278 Oct 16 2005 06:40 EDT, 289:10:40 GMT COM Period: 2005:289 10:40:00 - 12:40:00 GMT = 2005 Oct 16 6:40 am EDT End 2005 Oct 16 8:40 am EDT See http://asc.harvard.edu/acis/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html or /proj/web-cxc/htdocs/acis/SOT_reports/Oct_16_2005_L2278.txt ACIS Personnel: Joseph DePasquale PLAN: ----- We plan to execute CAP 981 to warm boot the ACIS BEP and restart DEA housekeeping. A warm boot of the BEP will force an internal calibration of the DEA A/D converter which was left in an uncalibrated state when the DEA was restarted after an anomalous shutdown on day 259. In its current, uncalibrated and low resolution (8 bit) state, the DEA A/D converter has been reporting slightly incorrect temperatures and voltages in housekeeping data. Once calibrated and commanded to high resolution (12 bit), DEA housekeeping should resume reporting correct temperatures and voltages. SUMMARY: -------- The start of the CAP was slightly delayed by ratty telemetry but once underway, was completed within 10 minutes! The BEP was warm booted and came back up without a hitch; it picked up the latest version of the flight SW (31) from memory after the warm boot. With step 1 complete, we proceeded to load the DEA housekeeping parameter block and restart a DEA housekeeping run. Once housekeeping data began flowing, we had immediate verification of the recalibration of the DEA A/D converter; the FP temperature is now reported as -119.7 C!!
