EPH temp 84.10 degF NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS ACIS DEA Anomaly. At the 259:0345 pass the OC/CC noticed that the DEA-A was off. A quick analysis shows that the DEA-A voltages and currents were nominal up until the major frame at which the DEA shut off. The ACIS team assessment is that this looks like the two cases where DPA turned off. Those were not assigned a definitive cause, but the best hypothesis was a cosmic ray hit to the opto-isolator causing the PSMC to send a spurious command to turn off. The recommended approach is to carefully turn DEA back on, while watching it, and this will be attempted in the pass at 259:16:50 (12:50pm EDT) today. Extended Groth Strip Observations: Based on observed temperatures, a waiver of EPHIN temperature predictions has been approved for the current set of EGS observations. We also note that the observer has relaxed the roll angle requirement by 5 degrees to be +/- 25 degrees. From the 9am status meeting: Two supports in the past 24 hours. DSS-66 had problems commanding -- commands went to the station but not up to Chandra. Problem was cleared. At the 0245 pass this morning the ACIS DEA power off anomaly was noted. Power off occured about 258:23:30. At the 2030 pass yesterday we ran CAP 977 to clear RADMON and re-enable SCS 107. We resumed the science observing program, and uplinked three segments of the SEP1505C products. On-board loads are good through 262:02:50. There were OBC error log entries as expected due to commands stopping the CTI measurement for the run which didn't actually get started. The CPA-1 power amplifier had a limit violation attributed to a commanding problem running a script. It cleared back to nominal status after the next pass. ACE soft proton rates currently at ~3000 and falling slowly. OK for ACIS observing. MEV proton rates are elevated, at about 1/10 EPHIN trip levels, but also falling slowly. There were two M class flares in the past day, and region 808 is still active and earth facing, so more radiation is possible in the next few days.
