Shift Report A11 August 3 1999, 4:00am EDT, GMT 215:08:00 ACIS Activities this shift 1. Completed Event Histogram Mode on the S array. 2. Observed ATS for radiation entry execute. 3. Tentative mission planning for post-IPS4. The lock on our door is now 100% inoperative, and riffraff wanders through at will. Is this a bug or a feature? Spacecraft Activities Earth sensor scan. 1. Event Histogram Mode on the S array. Histogram was running as shift started, in format 2. Mark confirmed that we wanted to continue the histogram rather than try to squeeze a different procedure into the short time before radiation entry. I left Bill P, the SOT lead, in charge of occasional checks on focal plane temperature, and went to 6th floor to work on the new intcal parameter blocks and phase 2. The OCC changed to format 4 at 215:01:20. The error was discovered when I returned an hour before radiation entry. Bill asked for, and received, format 2 at approximately 215:06:20. Five hours of data were lost. TST lead says that Tony Lavoy informed him the science team had approved the switch to format 4. No one on A shift recalls speaking with Tony about it. We finished SOP_61074 with a stop science at 215:06:50. During this half hour, squirt data dropouts were occurring at the rate of 2 per minute. 2. ATS for radiation entry execute. The ATS ran on schedule at 215:07:07. All three software commands were received. 3. Tentative mission planning. The spacecraft will be in format 4 all through Tuesday, to accommodate the dry run of IPS burn 4. The first activity after IPS 4 will be another HRC attempt. It will be preceded by a brief format 2 in order to start an event histogram. After that, we are penciled in for: ~ 9 hours intcal. optional patches (evhist and cc3x3) ~ 5 hrs cc3x3 teignore patch ~ 5 hrs raw_bias Mission planning - at least on this shift - is aware that the order of the last two is fluid, and requested times may be extended. There will be room for a good deal more ACIS commanding before the door opens. 215:08:44 - Returned to format 4. Focal plane rock steady at -118.9. Filed flight note 105 (Andy's fix to I_1_INTCAL_4A script). So if anybody can't find it, try the folder. 215:09:20 - Short telem dropout switching to 24K at Goldstone. 215:10:07 - LOS from Goldstone 215:10:40 - Perigee 215:10:50 - AOS from Diego 215:11:30 - Dropped by Diego like a bad habit.
