Item 1. Reminder! - Registration Deadline NEXT WEEK X-ray Binaries Workshop

The registration deadline for the Chandra sponsored workshop:

	"X-ray Binaries in the Chandra and XMM-Newton Era
 	  (with an emphasis on Targets of Opportunity)"

is next week, October 3.  Attendance is limited, so to ensure participation 
please register soon by sending email to 'xrb_reg@head-cfa.harvard.edu'.

Item 2.  Reminder! - Registration Deadline NEXT WEEK Chandra Calibration Workshop
=================================================================================


Interested in helping shape the future of data analysis for CHANDRA?
Perhaps you just want to learn more about the nuts and bolts of
CHANDRA's calibration. Either way you should join us at the first
annual CHANDRA Calibration Workshop. The meeting will be held during
the first week of November (6th and 7th) in Boston. We want you to
contribute by presenting your calibration questions, problems and
successes.  Active participation is encouraged via oral and poster 
presentations. 

In conjunction with the meeting two CIAO expert sessions will be held in
the same locale (one before and one after the workshop).

Item 3. Public Observations on Anonymous ftp Site  
=================================================


The primary data products of all public Chandra observations are now
available from an anonymous ftp site:

        ftp://cdaftp.harvard.edu/pub/

This site is being kept up-to-date in real time.  That means that
observations that are released to the public are available from this
ftp archive almost immediately and that old data versions are replaced
by new, reprocessed ones as soon as they are released.

Note that, although it provides access to these data products by
ObsId, there are no search and query facilities.
