Ten Years of Science with Chandra Symposium ===================================================== The symposium "Ten Years of Science with Chandra: Chandra's First Decade of Discovery" will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA from Tuesday, 22 September through Friday, 25 September 2009. The meeting will highlight key science results from the first ten years of operation of the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Meeting Announcement for The International X-ray Observatory ===================================================================== The International X-ray Observatory team invites you to a science meeting on January 28 - 29, 2009 in Cambridge, MA at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on the Charles River. Participation by all members of the scientific community is welcomed, and those on the previous Con-X and XEUS teams are particularly encouraged to attend. The meeting will focus on preparing for the upcoming U.S. Decadal Survey, and will feature presentations by the IXO Science Definition Team, the Instrument Working Group, the Telescope Working Group, and the ESA, JAXA and NASA projects. There will be updates on the mission configuration from the recent ESA Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) and NASA Mission Design Lab (MDL) efforts. The overall science goals of the IXO mission will be discussed and the status of preparing the science case for submission to the Decadal Survey will be presented. We expect on-line registration to open on Nov 24, and close Jan 14. The project web sites will be updated shortly with details of the meeting. We are in the process of reserving a block of rooms at the Royal Sonesta which will cost $149 per night, and expect that this block will be available to you when registration opens on Nov 24.
