This is a reminder for the upcoming conference 

We would like to invite you to register at the website and submit 
an abstract for an oral or poster presentation. For your proposed 
presentation, please indicate which session topics would fit it best. 

Important dates: 
- November 1, 2009: abstract submission deadline for oral presentations 
- January 15, 2010: early registration deadline 
- March 1, 2010: late registration deadline 
- March 15, 2010: start of conference

Item 3. The Chandra Calibration Review 
=======================================

The Chandra Calibration Review was held September 21 at the Seaport World 
Trade Center in Boston, MA.  The review was a great success and we would like 
to thank all presenters and attendees.  Proceedings are available at

Item 4.  CIAO on MAC OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
=============================================


Although CIAO 4.1.2 is not officially supported on the Mac OS-X 10.6
(Snow Leopard) platform, there is an easy, user-submitted workaround
which appears to allow CIAO to be used on this platform:

After starting CIAO,

   cd $ASCDS_INSTALL
   cd ots/lib
   mv libxml2.2.dylib libxml2.2.dylib.ciao412
   ln -s /usr/lib/libxml2.2.dylib

This step only needs to be performed once.

We currently plan to fully support Mac OS-X 10.6 in the next release of
CIAO (CIAO 4.2) which will be available in December 2009.

Item 5.   Cycle 11 EPO CfP reminder 
===================================

All PI's of Cycle 11 observations are reminded that the deadline
for EPO supplemental grant proposals is Oct. 23.
Proposal documents and forms can be accessed from the EPO link
on the Chandra Proposer page.
