Number: HRC-C-008
Type: Constraint
Original Date: 5/9/98
Subsystem: HRC
Subject: HRC Focus Shutters Movement and Housing Door
Source:HRC Operations Control Board
CRL Statement:
The HRC focus shutters may only be moved if the HRC housing door is
either in the closed or fully opened position.
CRL Rationale/Justification:
The HRC focus shutters motion constraint with respect to the housing
door is derived from the HRC design.
CRL Impact:
Motion of the focus shutters, assuming that the door is neither in the
closed or opened position, will result in damage to the shutters and
possible damage to the housing door or the detector assemblies.
Damage to the detector assemblies, focus shutters, or detector housing
door can result in the loss of the instrument.
Recommended Action:
Incorporate into the Systems and Operations Procedures, with ASC providing
the inputs.
