HRC Command Sequences

HRC-I MCP Manual HV Ramp-up

Description:

This sequence is used to ramp the HRC-I MCP HV up from a standby level to an operational level in a series of steps. At each step the HVPS current limit is disabled, the bottom MCP HV level is set, the top MCP HV level is set, and then the current limit is enabled. The order of raising the HV is used to minimize HV gradients that might damage the MCPs. At each HV level there is a pause for the HRC science team to verify nominal healthy operation.

Cautions/Restrictions:

This sequence requires a real time contact for its entire duration.

The flight operations team should be ready to execute a sequence (HRC MCP HV Off) that will "safe" the MCP HV at any time during this sequence at the request of the HRC science team.

This sequence cannot begin until the pressure at the HRC detector housing is less than 10-5 torr. The HRC detector housing door must be open before this sequence is executed.
