Bright Start Hold

The spacecraft went into bright star hold on 2002:18:16:7:56.1, and recovered from it on 2002:24:14:40.

The initial indications from the investigation into the day 024 bright star hold are that errors in our gyro scale factor calibration and stellar aberration caused the safing action. There is approximately 150 arcsec worth of attitude error at the current attitude. This was sufficient to cause us not to acquire the obc star catalog stars with 120 arcsec search boxes. There is no indication of any bias shift during the maneuver and all other gyro parameters look normal. (from Dan Shropshire's email).

EPHIN

EPHIN temperatures have continued to be quite high over the last month (since the EPHIN hardware failure flag anomaly). MTA is tracking this issue here.
