Request for Acknowledgment of Use of Chandra Resources
Chandra users are asked to acknowledge, in the acknowledgment section
of any resulting publications, their use of Chandra data (new or
archived), the Chandra Source Catalog, and/or CXC software.
Acknowledgment of relevant CXC-issued NASA grants would also be appreciated.
This will help us greatly to keep track of software usage, archive and catalog
access, etc. - information that is essential for our providing full
accountability of our work and services.
The following language is suggested (to be adapted as applicable, of course):
This research has made use of data obtained from the Chandra
Data Archive and the Chandra Source Catalog, and
software provided by the Chandra X-ray
Center (CXC) in the application packages CIAO,
ChIPS, and Sherpa.
We would like to remind you that it is also very helpful for us if you
could list the actual ObsIds of the observations that were used,
or include Dataset Identifiers
in the manuscript. And please include NASA grant numbers, if applicable.
