CALDB 4.1.7 RELEASE NOTES

I. INTRODUCTION

CalDB 4.1.7 is a patch upgrade to CalDB 4.1.6. It is only to be used in Standard Data Processing by the CXCDS. It is an emergency upgrade includes the following corrections to CalDB 4.1.6:

CalDB header corrections for two ACIS T_GAIN files
Corrected ACIS-I1 Group E blank-sky background file.

II. SUMMARY OF CHANGES

A. ACIS T_GAIN file corrections

LOCATION:	$CALDB/data/chandra/acis/t_gain
FILENAMES:	acisD2009-08-01t_gainN0006.fits acisD2009-11-01t_gain_biN0002.fits

B. One corrected ACIS-I1 BKGRND "Blank Sky" file from Group E

LOCATION:	$CALDB/data/chandra/acis/bkgrnd
FILENAME:	ACIS-I in focal plane: acis1iD2005-09-01bkgrnd_ctiN0001A.fits

The new file replaces a file released in CalDB 4.2.1 named acis1iD2005-09-01bkgrnd_ctiN0001.fits, which was created with an error in the column filter specification of dmcopy. The error resulted in delivering the file with only one column, instead of removing that column. The new N0001A file has the appropriate data. This new file is stored in a new ACIS BKGNRD TAR ball, and must be unpacked from there to complete the CalDB 4.2.2 upgrade. See the CalDB 4.2.2 download instructions page.

CALDB 4.12.2 should not be used unless you are running CIAO 4.16 or later versions!

CalDB 4.11.1 was released to the public. Included in this release are the new ACIS "warm-temperature" CTI corrections vN0012, and an updated HRC-S QEU N0018 file set (33 new files). CalDB 4.11.0 was released to the public. Included in this release are the new ACIS "warm-temperature" CTI corrections vN0011, and an updated HRC-I QE N0014 file set (37 new files). Also included are set #5 of the PCAD ACA-primary DARK_CURR (dark current) image files and the Cycle 26 PIMMS Effective Area configuration files, neither of which affect CIAO users. CalDB 4.10.7 was released to the public. Included in this release are the latest HRC-S QE Uniformity data sets (version N0017) including one addtional data set effective for OBS_IDs taken after the HRC-S restart. CalDB 4.10.4 was released to the public. Included in this release are the latest ACIS T_GAIN (time-dependent gain) updates, which will be updated annually rather than semiannually going forward.
