The HRC calibration team has generated an update (version 15) to the HRC-I time-dependent QE file set in CalDB. The new file set includes one additional file effective as of 2023-09-27T00:00:00 (UTC), thus modifying the effective QE for all observations taken subsequently.
This update includes data from the latest HZ 43 observation. The QE includes both intrinsic QE loss as well as a correction estimated as due to photons lost below the lower level discriminator due to gain drop. In this version the latter has been reassessed, and is modeled as a piecewise polynomial over different time periods, leading to adjustments by ~1-2% in the epochs since c.2019.
