CalDB 4.5.4 Release Notes

I. INTRODUCTION

CalDB 4.5.4 is an upgrade to the Chandra CalDB, which includes only header changes to the following items:

  • ACIS T_GAIN Epochs 2-39 for warm archival ERs
  • ACIS CTI file 2000-01-29
  • ACIS -120C non-CTI DET_GAIN
  • ACIS -120C non-CTI OSIP

as well as regenerated versions of the HRC and DEFAULT branch index files. These upgrades are necessary for the Chandra CalDB 4 software (called "libcaldb4" in the DS and CIAO). The new CalDB 4 library will be released with CIAO 4.5 later this month, and is being installed in DS software version 8.5.

CalDB 4.5.4 will not be released separately to CIAO users; instead it will be included in the CalDB 4.5.5 release with CIAO 4.5 later this month. CalDB 4.5.4 will have no discernable affect on CIAO users.

Epochs 2 and 3:

For epochs 4-39, the FP_TEMP boundary condition has been reset from (142.2-158.2)K, to (151.16-188.16)K. For epochs 2-3, the FP_TEMP boundary condition has been reset to (151.16-162.16)K. Epochs 2 and three are different because of some planned -110C ACIS Calibration OBS_IDs were taken during the Summer of 2000, which require that the -110C T_GAIN file be selectable in those cases. These were done in July and August of 2000, which includes those two T_GAIN epochs.
