Reset model parameter values after a fit




The reset command restores the parameter values after fitting to the default value set by "guess" or to the user-defined default. The get_model command may be used as the argument instead of explicitly listing the current source model.

  • model - the model component or expression to reset

If the user set initial model values or soft limits - e.g. either with the "set_par" command or by turning on parameter prompting ("ahelp paramprompt") - reset will restore these values and limits even after the guess command has been used or a fit was done.

Example 1

sherpa> set_source("")
sherpa> fit()
sherpa> reset(pl)

Set a source model, fit the data, then reset the model parameters to the pre-fit values.

Example 2

sherpa> set_source("*beta1d.b")
sherpa> fit()
sherpa> reset(b)

Set a complex source model, fit the data, then reset one of the model components to the pre-fit values.

Example 3

sherpa> set_source("*beta1d.b")
sherpa> fit()
sherpa> reset(get_model())

The get_model command is used as the argument to reset.
