AHELP for CIAO 4.9 Sherpa v1

xszbabs

Context: models

Synopsis

EUV ISM attenuation XSPEC model.

Description

The ISM attenuation due to neutral H, neutral He and once ionized He. This is a modified version of the Rumph, et al. 1994 model, using the ismatten program by Pat Jelinsky, and allows the user to set the model redshift.

This is a multiplicative model component.

xszbabs Parameters

Number Name Description
1 nH H column density (10^22 atoms/cm^2)
2 nHeI He I column density (10^22 atoms/cm^2)
3 nHeII He II column density (10^22 atoms/cm^2)
4 redshift redshift

XSPEC version

This information is taken from the XSPEC User's Guide. Version 12.9.0o of the XSPEC models is supplied with CIAO 4.9.

Bugs

For a list of known bugs and issues with the XSPEC models, please visit the XSPEC bugs page.

To check the X-Spec version used by Sherpa, use the get_xsversion routine from the xspec module:

sherpa> from sherpa.astro.xspec import get_xsversion
sherpa> get_xsversion()
'12.9.0o'
